How to Measure a Kenworth T880 Visor Before You Buy
Here's a quick reference guide on how to measure a Kenworth T880 visor.
To avoid ordering the wrong semi truck visor, you'll need to first know the truck's cab style, windshield shape, mounting bracket location, visor style, light options, and whether the visor replaces factory brackets or mounts differently.
Measuring T880 Drop Visor Size Guide by Cab Configuration
The Kenworth T880 has been in production since around 2014. Over the last 12 years, it has seen a few iterations, including the T880S performance hood with a set-forward front axle, yet the total cab width and windshield curvature has remained the same (2.1 meters or 82.7 inches wide).
This means T880 visor comptability isn't year-specific, but the T880 visor fitment can change slightly based on the cab configuration (AKA where it's mounted).
Day Cab, Sleeper Cab, Flat Roof and Mid-Roof Setups
The T880 has three configurations: 40-inch, 52-inch, and 76-inch mid-roof sleeper.
On 52-inch and 76-inch sleepers, the visor must be mounted above the side door panels rather than the roof. For a day cab, or 40-inch flat-top sleeper, the visor mounts along the roof.
How to Measure the T880 Visor Drop Length
The drop length is how far the visor hangs down over the windshield from the top edge near the cab/roofline down towards the windshield.
A deep drop visor will hang lower than a standard drop. Most T880 visors will jut outwards, creating a gap between the visor and the windshield.

Slammed T880 visors, on the other hand, are mounted flat against the existing windshield curvature.

That having been said, you CAN get an accurate measurement of your visor without removing the existing visor just by using a simple tape measure.
How to Measure the Side Drop
- Park the truck on level ground.
- Stand directly in front of the truck.
- Locate the top edge of the visor where it meets the cab, roofline, or mounting bracket area.
- At the outer side of the windshield, measure straight down from the top edge of the visor to the lowest edge of the visor.
- Keep the tape measure vertical, not angled.
- Repeat on the opposite side to make sure both sides match.
How to Measure the Center Drop
- Find the exact center point of the visor.
- Measure from the upper edge of the visor straight down to the lowest center point.
- Keep the tape measure vertical.
- Record the measurement separately from the side drop.
The side drop and center drop are diferent due to the style design of hte visor. A reverse bowtie visor drops low in the center and is high on the outer edges. A bowtie visor sits higher in the center and lower toward the sides.
Kenworth T880 Factory Visor Bracket Locations
Measuring bracket-to-bracket spacing
For bracket-to-bracket spacing, measure center-to-center, not outside edge to outside edge.
- Remove or lift enough of the old visor to clearly see the factory roof brackets.
- Identify the bolt hole or mounting point in each bracket.
- Hook the tape measure at the center of the driver-side bracket hole.
- Measure straight across to the center of the next bracket hole.
- Continue across the roof cap: driver outer → intermediate → center → intermediate → passenger outer.
- Write each measurement separately.
Identifying roof cap bracket locations
- Existing OEM visor brackets above the windshield
- Top OEM bolts in the roof brackets
- Roof nutserts or roof nuts
- Center bracket above the middle of the windshield
- Side/outer brackets near the A-pillar area
- Factory clearance light pockets, especially on mid/high-roof visor kits
In summary:
To measure Kenworth T880 factory visor bracket locations, start by identifying whether your truck already has a factory visor.
If it does, measure the center-to-center spacing between each OEM roof bracket above the windshield, then measure the center-to-center bolt holes within each bracket.
Factory replacement visors are designed to mount to those existing brackets, while some deep drop or blind-mount visors use a different bracket system and may require drilling, nutserts, or professional installation.
Always match the visor to your truck’s cab configuration, roof cap layout, factory bracket count, and clearance light placement before ordering.
