Kenworth W900B/W900L Exhaust Kits

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth W900B/W900L Exhaust Kits

Will an exhaust kit fit my specific Kenworth W900B or W900L?

Exhaust kits are typically designed around specific stack diameters, mounting configurations, and cab heights, so fitment can vary between the W900B and W900L even though they share a lot of components. Always check the listed specifications, such as pipe diameter and overall length, against your truck's current setup before ordering, and reach out to our team if you're unsure about a specific part number.

What materials are these exhaust kits made from, and how do they hold up?

Most exhaust kits in this category are constructed from aluminized or stainless steel, with stainless steel generally offering better long-term resistance to rust and heat discoloration. Aluminized components are more budget friendly but may show wear sooner in high-moisture or high-mileage conditions. The product listing will note the specific material used for each kit or component.

Do I need to weld anything, or is this a bolt-together installation?

Many exhaust kits are designed for clamp-together or bolt-on assembly without welding, but this depends on the specific kit and how it integrates with your existing exhaust system. Some installations may require cutting or trimming to achieve proper fit and clearance. We recommend reviewing the installation notes on each product page and having basic tools on hand before starting the job.

Will a new exhaust kit affect my truck's sound or performance?

Changing pipe diameter, muffler type, or stack configuration can noticeably change exhaust tone and, in some cases, backpressure. If you're aiming for a specific sound or performance characteristic, look closely at the muffler style and pipe sizing described in the listing, since these details have the biggest impact on how the finished setup sounds and performs.

What finish options are available, and how do I keep them looking good?

Exhaust components are commonly offered in chrome, stainless, or plain finishes depending on the kit. Chrome and polished stainless will need regular cleaning to prevent bluing or discoloration from heat exposure, while unpolished stainless is more forgiving but still benefits from periodic washing to remove road grime and residue.
