Peterbilt 389 Glider Windshield Acc.

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 389 Glider Windshield Acc.

Will these windshield accessories fit my Peterbilt 389 Glider the same way they fit a standard 389?

Most windshield accessories in this category are designed to match the cab and windshield dimensions used on the Peterbilt 389, which are generally consistent across standard and Glider builds. That said, Glider kits can vary slightly depending on when and how the cab was assembled, so we recommend checking the listed dimensions and comparing them to your truck before ordering, especially if your Glider has had any custom cab work done.

What materials and finishes are available for these parts?

You will find windshield trim, moldings, and related accessories offered in finishes such as stainless steel and chrome, along with painted or powder-coated options depending on the specific product. Stainless and chrome pieces are popular for their resistance to corrosion and their ability to hold up well under regular washing and road exposure.

Do I need any special tools or expertise to install these accessories?

Installation requirements vary by product. Trim pieces and moldings typically install with basic hand tools and existing mounting points, while components tied into the windshield seal or glass area may require more care to avoid leaks or damage. If a product involves removing or resealing glass, we recommend having it installed by someone experienced with windshield work.

Will adding these accessories affect the weatherproofing or seal around my windshield?

Accessories designed for this category are made to work with the factory seal and mounting points, so proper installation should not compromise your windshield's weatherproofing. However, any time you are working around the windshield seal, it is important to reseat trim and moldings carefully and use appropriate sealant where the product calls for it to prevent water intrusion.

Are these parts OEM Peterbilt components, or aftermarket replacements?

Our catalog includes a mix of OEM and aftermarket windshield accessories. Aftermarket options are built to match the fit and appearance of factory parts and are often a more affordable alternative, while OEM parts offer the assurance of coming from the original manufacturer. Product listings will indicate which type you are purchasing so you can choose based on your preference and budget.
