Freightliner FLD SBA Hood Emblems & Bezels

Frequently Asked Questions About Freightliner FLD SBA Hood Emblems & Bezels

What exactly are hood emblems and bezels used for on the Freightliner FLD SBA?

Hood emblems are the decorative badges that display the Freightliner name or logo on the front of the hood, while bezels are the surrounding trim pieces or mounting frames that hold the emblem in place and give it a finished look. Together they restore or enhance the factory appearance of your truck's hood.

Will these emblems and bezels fit my specific Freightliner FLD SBA model year?

Emblem and bezel designs can vary slightly across production years and hood styles, so it's important to compare the dimensions and mounting style of the listed part to what is currently on your truck before ordering. If you're unsure, checking the part number or measuring your existing emblem and bezel can help confirm a proper match.

What materials and finishes are these emblems and bezels made from?

Most emblems and bezels in this category are constructed from chrome-plated plastic or metal to hold up to daily use and weather exposure. Finish options typically include polished chrome, though some parts may be offered in painted or brushed finishes depending on the specific product.

How do I install a new hood emblem or bezel?

Installation typically involves removing the old emblem or bezel, which is often secured with clips, adhesive, or small fasteners on the underside of the hood. The new part is then aligned with the existing mounting holes or adhesive points and pressed or fastened into place. Always refer to the specific product's instructions, as mounting methods can differ between emblem and bezel styles.

How do I keep my emblem or bezel looking new over time?

Regular washing with mild soap and water helps prevent buildup of road grime and salt that can dull the finish. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrub pads on chrome surfaces, and consider applying a chrome polish periodically to maintain shine and help protect against corrosion.
