International PayStar 5000 Bumpers

Frequently Asked Questions About International PayStar 5000 Bumpers

What years and models of PayStar 5000 are these bumpers compatible with?

Our PayStar 5000 bumpers are designed to fit 2007-2018 International PayStar 5000 models, including the 5500i, 5600i, and 5900i series. However, compatibility can vary based on your specific truck configuration, particularly if you have aftermarket modifications or special equipment packages. We recommend checking your OEM or contacting our support team with your truck's year and model number to ensure proper fitment before ordering.

Are these bumpers made from chrome-plated steel or stainless steel, and which is better for my needs?

We offer both chrome-plated steel and polished stainless steel options. Chrome-plated bumpers provide a mirror-like finish at a lower cost but require regular maintenance to prevent rust and pitting, especially in harsh weather conditions. Stainless steel bumpers are more expensive upfront but offer superior corrosion resistance and require less maintenance, making them ideal for trucks operating in salt-heavy environments or coastal areas. Both options are built with heavy-duty construction suitable for vocational truck applications.

Can I install these bumpers myself, or do I need professional installation?

Installation typically takes 2-4 hours and can be completed by someone with moderate mechanical experience. The bumpers come with mounting brackets that align with factory mounting points, requiring basic hand tools and a floor jack or lift. However, due to the weight (ranging from 85-150 pounds depending on the model), we strongly recommend having a helper. Some customers report needing to slightly modify mounting holes on older trucks. Professional installation may be worth considering if you're adding accessories like fog lights or need to relocate sensors.

Do these bumpers accommodate factory fog lights and sensors?

Most of our PayStar 5000 bumpers include pre-cut openings for factory fog lights and standard sensor locations. However, the exact configuration depends on the specific bumper model you choose. Our standard and deluxe models typically have fog light provisions, while some heavy-duty models may require drilling. For trucks with adaptive cruise control or collision mitigation systems, please verify sensor compatibility before ordering, as some aftermarket bumpers may require sensor relocation brackets.

What's the difference between standard, heavy-duty, and severe-duty bumper options?

Standard bumpers are suitable for most highway and light vocational applications, featuring 14-gauge steel construction. Heavy-duty bumpers use thicker 10-gauge steel and reinforced mounting brackets, ideal for construction sites and off-road use. Severe-duty bumpers feature the thickest construction with additional gusseting and are designed for extreme applications like logging, mining, or heavy recovery operations. The main differences are weight capacity, impact resistance, and price, with severe-duty options costing 40-60% more than standard models.
