International S2200-S2600 Driving Lights

Frequently Asked Questions About International S2200-S2600 Driving Lights

Will these driving lights fit my International S2200 or S2600 without modification?

These lights are designed to fit the factory mounting locations on International S2200 and S2600 model trucks, so in most cases they bolt directly into place using the existing holes and hardware. However, because these trucks were built over a long production run with some variation in cab and fender configurations, it is a good idea to compare the listed dimensions and mounting pattern against your truck before ordering, especially if your truck has had prior body or fender work done.

Are these driving lights DOT compliant for on-road use?

Most driving lights offered in this category are designed to meet standard lighting requirements for auxiliary or fog/driving lamps, but compliance can depend on how the light is wired, aimed, and used in combination with your truck's existing lighting system. We recommend checking the specific product listing for DOT or SAE markings and confirming with your local regulations before installation, particularly if the lights will be used as a primary lighting source rather than supplemental lighting.

What is the difference between the housing materials and finishes available?

Driving lights in this category are typically available in chrome-plated or stainless steel housings, with some options in black or painted finishes to match different truck setups. Chrome and stainless steel housings tend to hold up well against road grime and are easy to wipe down, while painted finishes may require a bit more care to avoid chipping over time. Choosing a finish usually comes down to matching the rest of your truck's trim and personal preference.

Can I install these driving lights myself, or do I need a professional?

Many customers install these lights themselves since the mounting hardware is generally straightforward and uses the existing mounting points on the truck. That said, wiring the lights into your truck's electrical system correctly, including proper grounding and any relay or switch connections, is the part that trips people up most often. If you are not comfortable with basic electrical work, having a shop handle the wiring portion can help avoid issues like blown fuses or inconsistent operation.

What is the typical bulb type used in these lights, and are replacement bulbs easy to find?

Bulb type varies by specific light model, with common options including halogen and sealed-beam styles, and some newer offerings featuring LED versions. Before purchasing, check the product listing for the exact bulb type and wattage so you know what to expect for brightness and replacement cost down the road. Halogen and sealed-beam bulbs are generally easy to source through most truck parts suppliers, while LED units may require replacement of the entire light assembly depending on how it is constructed.
