Kenworth T300-T450 Hoods

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T300-T450 Hoods

Will this hood fit my specific Kenworth model and year?

Kenworth hood designs can vary between the T300, T400, T440, and T450 models, and even within different production years of the same model. Before ordering, check the listed fitment details on each product page and compare them against your truck's VIN plate or existing hood dimensions. If you are unsure, our team can help confirm compatibility before you purchase.

What materials are these replacement hoods made from, and how do they compare to the factory original?

Replacement hoods are typically available in fiberglass, though options may vary by listing. Fiberglass hoods are valued for their durability and resistance to denting compared to sheet metal, and most aftermarket versions are designed to match the fit, contour, and mounting points of the original factory hood as closely as possible.

Do these hoods come pre-painted, primed, or unfinished?

Finish options differ from product to product. Some hoods arrive primed and ready for paint, while others may be offered gel-coated or unfinished. Be sure to review the specific product description for finish details so you can plan for any additional paint or bodywork before installation.

What is involved in installing a replacement hood, and can I do it myself?

Installing a replacement hood generally involves removing the damaged or worn hood from its hinge or tilt mechanism, transferring over components like latches, hinges, headlight brackets, and grille hardware, and securing the new hood in place. Many experienced truck owners and shops handle this job themselves, but it does require careful alignment and mechanical know-how, so working with a qualified technician is recommended if you are not comfortable doing it yourself.

Will a replacement hood affect the way my headlights, grille, or other components mount and align?

Most replacement hoods are designed to accept the same headlight housings, grille, and mounting hardware as the original factory hood. That said, slight variations in fit can occur with aftermarket parts, so it is a good idea to test-fit components and check alignment during installation before fully securing everything in place.
