Hino 238-338 Truck LED Headlights

Frequently Asked Questions About Hino 238-338 Truck LED Headlights

Will these LED headlights fit my Hino 238 or 338 without modification?

These headlights are designed to be a direct replacement for the factory headlight assemblies on Hino 238 and 338 models, so they typically install using the existing mounting points and factory wiring connectors. As always, it's a good idea to confirm your truck's year and trim against the product listing before ordering, since minor variations in body style can occur across production years.

Do I need to modify any wiring or add a relay to run LED headlights on my Hino?

Most LED headlight assemblies for the Hino 238/338 are built to plug directly into the factory harness, so a relay or wiring modification generally isn't required. However, if your truck has aftermarket wiring or a modified electrical system, it's worth checking connector compatibility beforehand to avoid installation delays.

Are these LED headlights DOT compliant and legal for on-road use?

Reputable LED headlight assemblies sold for this application are manufactured to meet DOT and SAE standards for beam pattern, lighting output, and mounting, making them legal for on-road use in the US. We recommend checking the specific product description or packaging for DOT/SAE markings to confirm compliance before installation.

How do LED headlights compare to the factory halogen headlights in terms of brightness and visibility?

LED headlights generally produce a brighter, whiter light output compared to factory halogen units, which can improve nighttime visibility and reduce eye fatigue on long hauls. LEDs also tend to reach full brightness instantly and hold up better over time since there's no filament to burn out.

What's involved in installing these headlights, and can I do it myself?

Installation typically involves removing the old headlight assembly, disconnecting the factory harness, and reversing the process with the new LED unit, which most owner-operators can handle with basic hand tools. If your headlight assembly includes additional features like integrated turn signals or daytime running lights, double-check the wiring connectors match up before you start to keep the swap straightforward.
