Kenworth T600 Fuel Tank Covers & Bras

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T600 Fuel Tank Covers & Bras

What is a fuel tank cover or bra used for on a Kenworth T600?

Fuel tank covers, often called fuel tank bras, wrap around the exterior of the fuel tank to protect the tank surface from road debris, rock chips, dents, and general wear. They also give the truck a cleaner, more finished look while helping preserve the tank's paint or finish underneath.

Will a fuel tank cover fit my specific Kenworth T600 fuel tank?

Fit depends on the diameter and length of your fuel tank, since Kenworth T600 trucks were built with different tank sizes over the years. Before ordering, measure your tank's diameter and length and compare those measurements to the product listing to confirm a proper fit.

What materials are these covers made from, and how do they hold up?

Fuel tank covers are commonly made from materials like diamond plate aluminum, stainless steel, or heavy-duty vinyl and fabric. Metal covers tend to offer more rigid protection and a polished look, while fabric or vinyl bras are lighter and easier to install and remove for tank access.

How do I install a fuel tank cover, and can I do it myself?

Most fuel tank covers are designed for straightforward installation using straps, snaps, or hardware that secures around the existing tank, without requiring permanent modification. Many drivers install these themselves with basic tools, though the exact steps vary by product design, so it's worth reviewing the included instructions before starting.

Do fuel tank covers interfere with fuel gauges, sending units, or tank straps?

Quality fuel tank covers are designed to leave access points like the fuel fill, gauge, and sending unit uncovered or easily reachable. Still, it's a good idea to check the product description or ask before buying if you need guaranteed clearance around specific fittings or existing tank straps.
