Kenworth W900B/W900L Roof Trim

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth W900B/W900L Roof Trim

What exactly is included in roof trim for the Kenworth W900B/W900L?

Roof trim in this category typically refers to the exterior molding, panels, and cab corner or edge covers that run along the top of the cab, including pieces that cover seams where the roof meets the cab corners and windshield header area. These parts are primarily cosmetic, giving the cab a finished appearance while also helping to shield the underlying seams and mounting points from the elements.

Will this roof trim fit both the W900B and W900L, or are there differences between the two models?

While the W900B and W900L share many exterior similarities, the W900L has an extended hood and cab dimensions can vary slightly between the two. Always check the fitment notes on each product listing before ordering, and if you are unsure whether a specific trim piece matches your cab configuration, reach out to our team with your VIN or model year so we can confirm compatibility.

What materials and finish options are available for these trim pieces?

Roof trim is commonly offered in stainless steel or chrome-plated finishes, with some pieces available in a brushed or polished look. Stainless steel tends to hold up well against corrosion and road grime, while chrome offers a brighter, mirror-like appearance. Consider how the finish will match your existing chrome or stainless accessories when making a selection.

How is roof trim typically installed, and do I need special tools?

Most roof trim pieces attach using existing mounting holes, adhesive backing, or a combination of clips and fasteners, depending on the specific part. Basic hand tools are usually sufficient for installation, though some pieces may require careful alignment to ensure a clean, gap-free fit along the roofline. If a listing does not specify installation hardware, check whether fasteners or adhesive are included or need to be purchased separately.

How do I keep roof trim looking good and prevent corrosion or discoloration over time?

Regular washing with a mild soap and water solution helps remove road salt, dirt, and grime that can lead to pitting or discoloration, especially on chrome finishes. Applying a metal polish or protectant designed for chrome or stainless trim on a routine basis can help maintain shine and reduce the risk of surface corrosion, particularly in areas exposed to road salt or harsh weather.
