Will these light bars and filler panels fit my specific Peterbilt model year?
Our light bars and filler panels are designed to fit Peterbilt 330, 335, and 337 models from 2005 through current production years. However, there were minor design changes in 2011 and 2018 that may affect fitment. For 2011-2017 models, all our products will fit without modification. For 2005-2010 models, you may need to drill one additional mounting hole. What's the difference between stainless steel and chrome-plated options?
Stainless steel light bars are made from 304-grade stainless with a brushed or polished finish that won't rust, peel, or flake - ideal for harsh weather conditions and road salt exposure. Chrome-plated options feature a mirror-like finish over steel construction that provides excellent appearance but requires more maintenance and may show wear after 3-5 years depending on conditions. Stainless typically costs 20-30% more but offers superior longevity. Both options use the same mounting hardware and dimensions.
How difficult is the installation, and what tools do I need?
Installation typically takes 1-2 hours for someone with basic mechanical skills. You'll need: a socket set (13mm, 15mm, 17mm), drill with 3/8" and 1/2" bits (for some applications), center punch, measuring tape, and thread locker. Most installations use existing bumper mounting points, though pre-2011 models may require drilling 2-4 holes. Filler panels snap into place after light bar installation.
Can I mount additional lights on these light bars, and what's the weight capacity?
Yes, our light bars are designed with pre-drilled mounting points that accept standard 3/4" light mounting hardware. Each bar can safely support up to 10 pounds of evenly distributed weight, accommodating 4-6 typical LED or halogen fog lights. The bars feature reinforced mounting brackets and are tested to withstand normal driving vibration. For heavier light configurations or light cannons over 1 pounds each, we recommend our heavy-duty series with additional center support brackets.
Do the filler panels come painted or primer-ready, and will they match my truck?
Filler panels come in three options: raw steel with primer coating (ready for paint), textured black powder coat, or polished stainless steel. The primer-ready panels require painting to match your truck - any automotive body shop can color-match your specific paint code. Textured black provides a durable finish that complements most color schemes without painting. Panels measure approximately 18" x 6" and include mounting clips. For exact color matching, we recommend ordering primer-ready panels and having them professionally painted with your truck's paint code.
