International LT Fuel Tank Covers & Bras

Frequently Asked Questions About International LT Fuel Tank Covers & Bras

What exactly are fuel tank covers and bras used for?

Fuel tank covers and bras are protective and decorative coverings that fit over the fuel tanks on your International LT semi truck. They shield the tank surface from road debris, rust, and minor scratches while also giving your truck a customized look. Many drivers choose them to match other chrome or stainless accents on their rig.

Will these covers fit my specific International LT tank size?

Fuel tank covers are typically made to match specific tank diameters and lengths, so it is important to measure your tank or check your truck's specifications before ordering. Because tank sizes can vary by model year and configuration, always confirm the listed dimensions on each product page match your tank before purchasing.

What materials are these covers made from, and how do the finishes differ?

Most fuel tank covers and bras are constructed from stainless steel or heavy-duty aluminum, offering durability against weather and road conditions. Finish options commonly include polished chrome-look stainless, brushed stainless, or diamond plate textures, allowing you to pick a look that complements the rest of your truck's exterior.

Are these covers easy to install, and do I need any special tools?

Fuel tank covers are designed for straightforward installation and generally attach using straps, clamps, or existing mounting points without permanent modification to the tank itself. Basic hand tools are usually all that's needed, and most drivers can install them without professional help, though instructions can vary by manufacturer so it's worth reviewing the included guidance first.

How do I keep my fuel tank cover looking good over time?

Regular washing with mild soap and water helps prevent buildup of road grime and salt that can dull the finish or lead to corrosion over time. For polished stainless covers, periodic polishing with a stainless-safe cleaner will help maintain shine, while brushed or diamond plate finishes typically require less maintenance to look presentable.
