Kenworth T300-T450 Fuel Tank Acc.

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T300-T450 Fuel Tank Acc.

What kinds of products are included in this category?

This category covers fuel tank accessories for Kenworth T300 through T450 models, including items such as fuel tank straps, mounting brackets, caps, sending unit hardware, drain plugs, and related hardware used to secure and maintain the fuel tanks on these trucks. It does not include the fuel tanks themselves, which are typically listed separately.

How do I know if a part will fit my specific truck?

Fitment can vary depending on the model year, tank size, and tank shape used on your specific Kenworth T300-T450 configuration. Before ordering, check the listed tank diameter, mounting style, and any noted model year ranges on the product page. If you are unsure, have your VIN and current tank measurements on hand so you can compare them to the specs listed or ask our team for help confirming compatibility.

What materials and finishes are available for these accessories?

Depending on the part, you will typically find options in steel, aluminum, or stainless steel, often finished in polished, brushed, or plain mill finishes. Straps and brackets are commonly zinc or powder coated for corrosion resistance. Choose a material and finish that matches your existing tank setup and the level of corrosion resistance you need for your operating environment.

Can I install these parts myself, or do I need a professional?

Many fuel tank accessories, such as caps, drain plugs, and basic hardware, are straightforward enough for most owner-operators or shop technicians to install with common hand tools. However, items involving strap replacement or bracket work that require supporting the weight of a full or partially full tank should be handled with proper lifting equipment and, if you are not experienced with this type of work, by a qualified technician to avoid damage or injury.

Are these fuel tank accessories DOT compliant?

Fuel system components can be subject to FMVSS and DOT regulations depending on the specific part and its function. We recommend verifying that any replacement cap, strap, or hardware maintains a secure, leak free fuel system and meets the same safety standards as your original equipment. If you have specific compliance questions for your fleet or jurisdiction, consult your DOT inspector or compliance officer before installation.
