International WorkStar trucks require Extended Life Coolant (ELC) meeting International's specifications, typically a nitrite-free OAT (Organic Acid Technology) formula. Most WorkStar models with MaxxForce engines hold between 44-52 quarts of coolant depending on engine size and configuration. Never mix conventional green coolant with ELC red/pink coolant as this can cause gel formation and system damage. When doing a complete flush, remember to include the heater core capacity and use only distilled water for mixing if using concentrate.
