Peterbilt 375/377 Fuel Tank Covers & Bras

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 375/377 Fuel Tank Covers & Bras

What are fuel tank covers and bras, and what do they do?

Fuel tank covers and bras are protective and decorative panels that fit over or around the fuel tanks on your Peterbilt 375 or 377. They shield the tank surface from road debris, rust, and minor scratches while also giving the truck a customized, finished look. Some styles wrap the full tank, while others cover just the top or a specific section.

Will these covers fit my specific tank size and configuration?

Fit depends on your truck's tank diameter and length, which can vary between Peterbilt 375 and 377 models and different tank options installed at the factory or aftermarket. Before ordering, measure your tank's diameter and length and compare those measurements to the product listing specifications. If you're unsure, our customer service team can help confirm the right fit based on your truck's details.

What materials are these covers and bras made from, and how do they hold up?

Most fuel tank covers and bras are made from stainless steel, aluminum, or heavy-duty vinyl/fabric depending on the style. Stainless and aluminum covers offer long-term durability and resist corrosion, while vinyl and fabric bras provide a lighter-weight option that's easier to remove for tank access. The right choice depends on how much protection versus convenience you're looking for.

How difficult is it to install a fuel tank cover or bra myself?

Installation difficulty varies by product type. Metal covers typically require mounting hardware such as straps or clamps and may take some time to align properly around fittings and straps. Fabric bras are generally simpler, using elastic edges, snaps, or ties to secure around the tank. Most products are designed for at-home installation with basic tools, but reviewing the included instructions before starting is recommended.

Will a fuel tank cover interfere with access to the fuel cap, sight gauge, or drain plug?

Quality covers and bras are designed with cutouts or flaps for the fuel cap, sight glass, and other tank components so you can still check fuel levels and fill up without removing the entire cover. That said, designs differ between manufacturers, so it's worth checking product photos and descriptions to confirm the specific cutouts match the components on your tank.
