International 4700-4900 Grilles

Frequently Asked Questions About International 4700-4900 Grilles

Will this grille fit my specific International 4700 or 4900 model year?

International made several grille design changes across the 4700 and 4900 model years, so fitment can vary depending on the exact year and cab configuration of your truck. Always check the listed year range and part number on each product page against your VIN or existing grille before ordering, and reach out to our team if you are unsure -- we can help confirm compatibility before you buy.

What materials are these grilles made from, and how do they hold up over time?

Replacement grilles for the 4700-4900 are typically offered in materials like chrome-plated plastic, painted steel, or unpainted plastic, depending on the manufacturer and listing. Chrome and painted finishes generally hold up well with regular washing, while unpainted versions give you the flexibility to paint or coat them to match your truck. Check the product description for the specific material and finish before purchasing.

Do these grilles come with the mounting hardware and brackets included?

Some grilles include mounting hardware and brackets, while others are sold as the grille shell only and require reusing your original hardware. This varies by listing, so review the product details or ask us directly if hardware inclusion isn't specified, especially if your original brackets are damaged or missing.

Can I install this grille myself, or do I need a shop to do it?

Most International 4700-4900 grilles are designed as a bolt-on replacement for the factory grille, making them manageable for anyone comfortable with basic hand tools and a bit of mechanical experience. That said, installation time and difficulty can increase if your mounting brackets are bent, rusted, or missing, in which case a shop visit may save you some frustration.

Is a used or aftermarket grille a good alternative to a new one?

Both used and aftermarket grilles can be solid options depending on your budget and how the truck is used. Used grilles are often the most economical choice for trucks that see rough duty, while new aftermarket grilles offer a cleaner, more consistent finish if appearance matters to you. Inspect used parts carefully for cracks or warping before installing, since grilles take direct exposure to road debris and weather.
