Kenworth T700 Fuel Tank Acc.

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T700 Fuel Tank Acc.

What kinds of fuel tank accessories are included in this category?

This category covers components and hardware used with the fuel tanks on a Kenworth T700, including items such as fuel tank straps, brackets, mounting bands, sending unit hardware, caps, vents, fuel gauges, and related mounting or sealing accessories. These are the parts that support, secure, seal, or monitor the fuel tank rather than the tank itself.

Will these accessories fit my specific Kenworth T700 fuel tank?

Fit can vary depending on the size and style of fuel tank installed on your truck, as Kenworth T700s were built with different tank capacities and mounting configurations. Before ordering, check the dimensions, tank diameter, and mounting style of your existing tank and compare them to the product specifications listed to confirm a proper match.

What material and finish options are available for straps and brackets?

Fuel tank straps and brackets are commonly available in coated or plated steel, aluminum, and stainless steel finishes. Steel options are typically more budget friendly, while stainless steel and aluminum offer better resistance to rust and corrosion, which is especially useful for trucks that run in wet, salted, or humid conditions.

How do I know if I need a replacement strap, bracket, or cap versus a full tank?

If your fuel tank itself is not leaking, cracked, or structurally damaged, you likely only need to replace the specific accessory that has failed, such as a worn strap, a corroded bracket, a stripped cap, or a faulty sending unit. Replacing individual accessories is usually more cost effective than replacing the entire tank when the tank body is still in good condition.

Are these fuel tank accessories easy to install, or do they require a professional?

Many items in this category, such as caps, vents, and gauges, are straightforward enough for an experienced DIY installer with basic tools. However, tasks involving tank straps, brackets, or anything that requires removing or repositioning the fuel tank itself are safety sensitive and are best handled by a qualified technician to ensure proper fit, secure mounting, and safe handling of fuel system components.
