Peterbilt 362 Driving Lights

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 362 Driving Lights

Will these driving lights fit my Peterbilt 362 without modification?

Driving lights in this category are designed to match the mounting locations and bulb or LED housing sizes used on the Peterbilt 362, including bumper-mount and bracket-mount styles. That said, production years can bring small variations in bumper design and mounting hardware, so it is a good idea to check the listed fitment notes on each product and compare bolt patterns before ordering.

Are these driving lights DOT and FMVSS legal for on-road use?

Most driving lights sold for the Peterbilt 362 are built to meet DOT and SAE requirements for auxiliary lighting, but legality also depends on how and where the light is mounted, its color, and whether it is wired to function only as intended (for example, not interfering with required headlamps or turn signals). Always check the specific product listing for DOT/SAE certification and confirm local and federal regulations before installing.

What is the difference between LED and halogen driving lights, and which should I choose?

LED driving lights generally run cooler, draw less current, and last longer than halogen units, while halogen lights tend to cost less upfront and offer a more traditional warm-white beam. If you are replacing factory-style lights and want a direct swap, halogen may be the simpler choice; if you want better long-term durability and lower power draw, LED is worth the added cost.

How difficult is it to install driving lights on a Peterbilt 362, and what tools do I need?

Installation difficulty depends on whether you are doing a direct bolt-on replacement or adding new lights to an unused mounting point. Bolt-on replacements typically only require basic hand tools like wrenches and screwdrivers, while new installations may involve running additional wiring, adding relays, and tapping into an existing circuit or fuse panel. Reviewing the wiring diagram and instructions included with your specific light kit before starting is recommended.

Do these driving lights come with the wiring harness and mounting hardware included?

This varies by product. Some driving lights are sold as complete kits with a wiring harness, relay, switch, and mounting brackets included, while others are sold as the light housing only, requiring you to source or reuse existing wiring and hardware. Check each product's included components list on the listing page to confirm exactly what comes in the box before you order.
