How to Replace a Peterbilt 389 Foot Pedal
Now that you have the parts, you can easily swap out your factory pedal for a billet aluminum pedal using standard hand tools: 3/8-inch socket wrench for the brake pedal and a 9/16-inch socket and wrench for the clutch pedal.
The gas pedal. Start here. Remove the rubber overlay from the gas pedalâs metal base. Add a billet gas pedal instead, but ensure the rear cross brackets slide securely behind the base. Tighten the bracket nuts to secure it in place.
The brake pedal. Next, do this. Remove the two nuts that hold the rubber overlay on the base. Billet brake pedal threaded posts are aligned with existing holes and screwed into place.
The clutch pedal. Remove the metal pedal from the clutch arm. The lower rubber overlay is then lifted to access the mounts; the nut, bolt, and washers are removed and put aside. The billet clutch pedal is placed on the clutch arm and reinstalled using the same hardware. Viola. You have a simple bolt-on interior upgrade that transforms your Peterbilt 389 interior cab into a finished, show-truck look and feel.
