Quick-Fix Air Brake Line Repair Kit: Why It Belongs in Every Trucker’s Side Box
When your air brake lines get damaged, it spells bad news for you and your payload on the road.
Thankfully, having an emergency repair Quick-Fix NTA kit is essential for owner-operators on long hauls. This offers a temporary repair for the air brake, transmission, and other connector lines.
What Is the Quick-Fix® Kit?

Created by Tramec Sloan (invented in 1981 in Lola, Kansas), this DOT-compliant, field-tested roadside hose fitting and fastener repair kit designed to get drivers safely back on the road without needing a tow or roadside diesel mechanic.
Kits are available in different formats (depending on what you buy):
- Clamshell Packs (retail-friendly)
- Classic Tubes (shop or truck use)
- Bulk Kits for production/technicians
- Some have pre-applied thread sealant and greased barbs for faster install
The Types of Quick-Fix Kits You Can Get:
- P/N 424314 – Air Brake Line Kit (21 composite fittings)
- P/N 424315 – NTA Kit (31 brass fittings)

- P/N 424317 – In-Cab Air Line Kit (24 composite fittings)
- P/N 431402, 431403 – 3/8" & 1/2" hose-specific Quick-Fix repair kits
This is available in both composite and all-brass fittings depending on application.
What Does “NTA” Mean?
NTA = No Transmission Anti-leak.
Just to clarify, this is used for roadside temporary repair of transmission lines, air brake hoses, and other pneumatic lines.
Again, this is NOT a permanent fix. It’s just a “quick-fix” during emergencies.
