Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T660 Toggle Extensions
Will these toggle extensions fit my specific year model Kenworth T660?
Our toggle extensions are designed to fit Kenworth T660 models from 2008-2016. However, we recommend verifying your existing toggle pattern before ordering, as some custom bumpers may have different spacing. The standard toggle bolt pattern is 3/8"-16 thread with 2-inch center-to-center spacing. If you're unsure about compatibility, please contact us with your VIN or send photos of your current toggle setup.
What material are these toggle extensions made from, and will they rust?
Most of our Kenworth T660 toggle extensions are manufactured from either 304 stainless steel or chrome-plated steel. Stainless steel options provide superior corrosion resistance and require minimal maintenance. Chrome-plated versions offer excellent shine but may require occasional polishing and can show wear in harsh winter conditions with road salt. Both materials are significantly more durable than painted steel alternatives.
How difficult is the installation, and what tools do I need?
Installation typically takes 30-45 minutes per side and requires basic hand tools: a 9/16" wrench or socket, thread locker (recommended), and possibly a drill if your bumper doesn't have pre-existing holes. The extensions bolt directly to your existing toggle mounts. The most common challenge is accessing the back side of the bumper for the mounting nuts - having a helper or using magnetic nut holders makes this much easier.
What length toggle extensions do I need for my setup?
Toggle extension length depends on your specific application. Standard lengths range from 2 to 8 inches. For dump trucks or vehicles with wet kits, 4-6 inch extensions typically provide adequate clearance. For aesthetic purposes or light bars, 2-3 inch extensions are usually sufficient. Measure from your current toggle position to where you want the final placement, then add 1 inch for mounting overlap.
Do these toggle extensions come in different finishes to match my truck?
Yes, we offer toggle extensions in multiple finishes including polished chrome, brushed stainless, and powder-coated black. Chrome provides the classic bright finish but requires regular maintenance. Brushed stainless offers a more subtle appearance with less upkeep. Black powder-coated options are ideal for work trucks or blacked-out builds. All finishes are sold in pairs and include mounting hardware.
