Frequently Asked Questions About International LT Mirrors & Accessories
Will these mirrors fit my specific International LT model year?
Our International LT mirrors are designed to fit 2017 and newer LT models. The mounting brackets and wiring harnesses are compatible with all LT625, LT625 6x4, and LT Series trucks from 2017 to present. However, if your truck has aftermarket door panels or custom modifications, you may need additional adapters. We recommend checking your VIN with our customer service team if you're unsure about fitment for your specific configuration.
What's the difference between manual and powered/heated mirror options?
Manual mirrors require physical adjustment by hand and have no electrical components, making them more affordable and easier to install. Powered mirrors feature electric motors for remote adjustment from inside the cab and typically include heated glass for defrosting. Most powered options are plug-and-play with existing OEM wiring harnesses on LT models equipped with power mirror controls. If upgrading from manual to powered mirrors, you'll need to run new wiring and may require a door panel switch kit.
How difficult is the installation process, and what tools do I need?
Mirror installation typically takes 30-60 minutes per side for someone with basic mechanical skills. You'll need a socket set (typically 13mm and 15mm), Phillips and flathead screwdrivers, and possibly a trim removal tool for door panels. The most challenging part is usually routing wiring for powered mirrors through the door boot. Many customers report the driver's side is easier to install than the passenger side due to better access. Professional installation usually runs $100-150 if you prefer not to DIY.
Are the mirror arms and housings made from chrome-plated steel or chrome-plated plastic?
Quality varies by manufacturer and price point. Premium mirrors feature die-cast aluminum or steel construction with triple-chrome plating for durability and corrosion resistance. Budget options often use ABS plastic housings with chrome finish, which can fade or peel after 2-3 years of exposure. Look for mirrors specifically noting "metal construction" or "die-cast" in the description. Stainless steel options are also available for maximum longevity, though they have a brushed rather than mirror finish.
Do these mirrors reduce blind spots compared to OEM mirrors?
Most aftermarket International LT mirrors offer similar or slightly improved visibility compared to factory mirrors. Wide-angle and convex options can reduce blind spots by 15-20 percent, particularly helpful for flatbed and car hauler applications. West Coast style mirrors provide the best blind spot coverage due to their larger surface area and dual mirror configuration. However, they do extend further from the truck and may require adjustment period for drivers used to standard aerodynamic mirrors.
