Frequently Asked Questions About International LoneStar Deck Plates & Air Line Boxes
What years and models of International LoneStar trucks are these deck plates compatible with?
Our deck plates and air line boxes are designed specifically for International LoneStar models from 2009 to present. They fit all LoneStar variants including day cabs and sleeper models. However, trucks with custom bumpers or aftermarket modifications may require additional fitting adjustments. We recommend checking your specific VIN with our customer service team if you have any doubts about compatibility.
Are these deck plates made from stainless steel or chrome-plated steel, and how durable are they?
Most of our International LoneStar deck plates are manufactured from 16-gauge 304 stainless steel with a mirror polish finish. Some economy options feature chrome-plated steel construction. The stainless steel options offer superior corrosion resistance and typically maintain their appearance for 5-7 years with proper care, while chrome-plated versions may show wear after 2-3 years depending on exposure to road salt and weather conditions.
Do I need to drill any holes for installation, and what tools are required?
Installation typically requires drilling 4-6 mounting holes per deck plate. You'll need a drill with metal bits (1/4" and 3/8"), a center punch, measuring tape, and basic hand tools including wrenches and screwdrivers. The air line boxes usually mount using existing frame holes, but some models may require minor drilling. Installation time averages 2-3 hours for a complete set. Detailed instructions with measurements are included with each purchase.
Will these deck plates work with my existing air and electrical connections?
Yes, our deck plates and air line boxes are designed with standard cutouts that accommodate OEM air lines, electrical connections, and glad hand fittings. The air line boxes feature rubber grommets to protect lines from chafing and maintain a weather-tight seal. Standard 1/2" air lines and 7-way electrical connections pass through without modification. Custom configurations are available for trucks with additional auxiliary lines.
What's the difference between standard and deluxe deck plate options?
Standard deck plates feature a flat design with basic air line cutouts and mounting hardware. Deluxe options include raised tread plate patterns for improved grip, LED light cutouts with wiring provisions, and heavy-duty mounting brackets. Deluxe models also typically include stainless steel hardware versus the zinc-plated hardware in standard kits. The deluxe versions add approximately 1/2" of depth but provide better functionality and appearance.
