Are these fuel caps vented or non-vented, and which type do I need?
We carry both vented and non-vented fuel caps. Vented caps are required for older IH Cabovers (typically pre-1985) that don't have separate tank venting systems. Non-vented caps are used on newer models with dedicated vent lines. Using the wrong type can cause fuel tank collapse (non-vented on vented system) or vapor lock issues (vented on sealed system). Yes, all our fuel caps include new gaskets specifically designed for diesel fuel compatibility.
