Frequently Asked Questions About Western Star Constellation Truck LED Headlights
Will these LED headlights fit my specific Western Star Constellation model year?
Our LED headlights are designed to fit Western Star Constellation models from 2002 to 2020. However, there are slight variations between early models (2002-2004) and later models (2005-2020) due to mounting bracket differences. Please check your truck's VIN and model year before ordering, or contact our support team with your specific truck details to ensure proper fitment. Note that some 2005 models may require adapter brackets depending on production date.
Do I need to install additional wiring or resistors to prevent hyperflashing or error codes?
Most of our LED headlight kits come with built-in CANbus decoders that prevent dashboard error messages and hyperflashing issues. However, some pre-2008 Constellation models may require additional load resistors or a relay harness, which we offer separately. The installation typically takes 1-2 hours per side and can be done with basic hand tools. All necessary hardware and detailed instructions are included with each kit.
How do the LED headlights perform in extreme weather conditions compared to stock halogens?
Our LED headlights feature aluminum housing with IP67 waterproof rating and operate effectively in temperatures from -40?F to 185?F. The polycarbonate lenses are treated with anti-fog coating and resist yellowing from UV exposure. Many drivers report better visibility in rain and snow due to the 6000K color temperature, though some prefer adding amber fog lights for heavy snow conditions. The LEDs also generate less heat than halogens, reducing ice buildup in winter.
What beam patterns and light output options are available?
We offer three main configurations: DOT-approved low/high beam combo units (4,800/6,000 lumens), high beam only units (8,000 lumens), and projector-style units with focused beam patterns. All options include both chrome and black housing finishes. The standard 7-inch round and 4x6 rectangular sizes are available, with most customers choosing the combo units for primary headlights. DRL (Daytime Running Light) functions are available on select models.
What is the actual lifespan and warranty coverage for these LED headlights?
Our LED headlights are rated for 50,000 hours of operation, which typically translates to 15-20 years of normal commercial use. They come with a 2-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and LED failure. The warranty does not cover physical damage from accidents or improper installation. Many customers report trouble-free operation beyond 100,000 miles. Unlike HID conversions, these LEDs maintain consistent brightness throughout their lifespan without color shifting.
