Frequently Asked Questions About International ProStar Custom Pedals
What years and models of International ProStar are these custom pedals compatible with?
Our custom pedals are designed to fit International ProStar models from 2008 through 2017. These pedals are specifically engineered for ProStar trucks with automatic transmissions and will work with both day cab and sleeper configurations. If you have a 2018 or newer ProStar with the updated interior design, please contact our customer service team at 1-888-875-7787 to verify fitment before ordering.
Are these pedals made from real metal or just chrome-plated plastic?
All of our International ProStar custom pedals feature genuine billet aluminum construction with a durable chrome finish or powder coating, depending on the style you choose. The pedal pads are made from heavy-duty rubber or aluminum with anti-slip grooves for safety. These are not plastic overlays - they are solid metal replacement pedals built to withstand years of commercial use.
How difficult is the installation process, and what tools will I need?
Installation typically takes 45-60 minutes and requires basic hand tools including a socket set, screwdrivers, and possibly a drill for certain models. Most pedal sets come with detailed instructions and mounting hardware. The brake and accelerator pedals usually bolt directly to existing mounting points, while clutch pedals (if applicable) may require minor drilling. Professional installation is not required, but we recommend having a second person help align the pedals during mounting.
Will aftermarket pedals affect my truck's warranty or cause issues with sensors?
Our custom pedals are designed as direct replacements that maintain all factory sensor positions and functionality. They will not interfere with your throttle position sensor, brake switch, or any electronic systems. As these are cosmetic upgrades that don't alter the mechanical operation of your pedals, they should not affect your warranty. However, we always recommend checking with your dealer if you have specific warranty concerns.
What styles and finishes are available, and how do they hold up to heavy use?
We offer several styles including flame designs, diamond plate, and smooth billet options. Finishes include polished chrome, black powder coat, and brushed aluminum. The chrome finishes feature triple-plating for corrosion resistance, while powder-coated options use automotive-grade coatings. Based on customer feedback, all finishes maintain their appearance well under normal trucking conditions, though chrome may require occasional polishing to maintain its shine. The anti-slip treads on all styles ensure safe operation in wet or muddy conditions.
