International IH Cabover Mud Flaps
Frequently Asked Questions About International IH Cabover Mud Flaps
What International IH Cabover models are these mud flaps compatible with?
Our International IH Cabover mud flaps are designed to fit most IH Cabover models from the 1960s through the 1980s, including the CO-4000, CO-1950B, CO-190, and Transtar CO-4070B series. However, mounting brackets and hole patterns can vary between specific years and configurations. We recommend checking your existing mounting setup or contacting us with your VIN and model year for exact fitment confirmation.
What material are these mud flaps made from and how long will they last?
Our International IH Cabover mud flaps are manufactured from heavy-duty rubber compounds or anti-sail polymer materials, typically ranging from 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch thickness. The rubber options provide excellent flexibility in cold weather and typically last 3-5 years with regular highway use. The anti-sail polymer flaps resist wind flutter better and can last 5-7 years but may become brittle in extreme cold. Both materials resist oil, road chemicals, and UV damage.
Do I need special brackets or hardware to install these mud flaps?
Most International IH Cabover mud flaps require mounting brackets that attach to your existing frame or fender wells. Standard installations use either angle iron brackets or adjustable spring-loaded hangers. You'll typically need 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch bolts, depending on your bracket style. Some cabovers have factory mounting points, while others may require drilling. We offer complete bracket kits separately if your truck doesn't have existing mounts.
What sizes and styles are available for International IH Cabovers?
We stock mud flaps in standard widths of 24 inches and 30 inches, with lengths ranging from 24 inches to 36 inches. Style options include plain black, ribbed texture, diamond plate pattern, and models with reflective tape or stainless steel weights at the bottom. Some customers prefer logo-embossed flaps featuring the International diamond or custom text. Quarter fender flaps in 12-inch and 16-inch widths are also available for tight clearance areas.
Will these mud flaps work with my lowered suspension or custom wheels?
Mud flap clearance can be an issue with lowered suspensions or oversized wheels. For lowered cabovers, we recommend measuring from your mounting point to ensure at least 6-8 inches of ground clearance when loaded. Adjustable hangers allow you to fine-tune the height. For wide or offset wheels, you may need to use longer brackets to push the flaps outward. Anti-sail flaps work better than standard rubber in these applications as they maintain their shape better at highway speeds.
