Frequently Asked Questions About Freightliner M2 Business Class Floor Mats

Will these floor mats fit my specific year and model M2?

Our Freightliner M2 Business Class floor mats are designed to fit model years 2003 and newer. However, there are slight variations between the 106 and 112 models, particularly in the footwell dimensions. We recommend checking your specific model number (found on your door jamb sticker) or calling our support team at 1-888-875-2425 with your VIN to ensure proper fitment. Manual transmission models may require trimming around the clutch pedal area.

What's the difference between rubber and carpet floor mats, and which holds up better?

Rubber floor mats are ideal for heavy-duty use, offering superior water resistance and easier cleaning - simply hose them off. They typically last 3-5 years with daily commercial use. Carpet mats provide better insulation and a more finished appearance but require regular vacuuming and shampooing. In wet or muddy conditions, rubber mats are the clear winner. Many drivers keep rubber mats for work seasons and swap to carpet for show truck events.

How difficult is the installation, and do I need to remove the seats?

Installation typically takes 15-30 minutes and doesn't require seat removal for most models. The mats are designed to work around the seat pedestals. You may need to temporarily move the seat forward or backward to properly position the mat. Some customers report needing to trim small sections around seat mounting bolts or brake pedals using a utility knife. The mats should lay flat immediately - if curling occurs, leave them in direct sunlight for 30 minutes before installation.

Do these floor mats have the factory mounting posts/grommets to keep them in place?

Most of our M2 floor mats include pre-cut holes for factory retention posts if your truck has them (2008 and newer models typically do). For older models without factory posts, the mats are designed with raised edges and heel pads that help keep them positioned. We also offer aftermarket retention clips that drill into your existing floor pan, though most drivers find the mats stay in place well without additional hardware.

How thick are these mats, and will they interfere with pedal operation?

Our standard rubber mats are approximately 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick, while heavy-duty options run up to 1/2 inch. We've specifically designed the driver's side mat with a tapered edge near the pedals to prevent interference. The accelerator pedal area features a recessed section to maintain proper pedal travel. If you have aftermarket pedal extensions or specialized equipment, measure your clearance first - you need at least 2 inches of space between your pedal at rest and the floor.
