Decals
Frequently Asked Questions About Decals
What materials are your decals made from, and how long will they last on my truck?
Our decals are made from premium vinyl materials, typically 3M or Oracal brand vinyl, which are specifically designed for outdoor automotive use. Under normal conditions, you can expect 5-7 years of life from our decals when properly applied and maintained. Factors like extreme weather, frequent washing, and direct sun exposure can affect longevity. Chrome and reflective decals tend to have slightly shorter lifespans (3-5 years) due to their specialized materials.
How difficult is it to install these decals, and what tools do I need?
Most of our decals can be installed by anyone with basic DIY skills. You'll need a clean microfiber cloth, isopropyl alcohol (70% or higher), a squeegee or credit card, and optionally a heat gun or hair dryer for curved surfaces. The process typically takes 15-30 minutes per decal. Larger decals over 12 inches may benefit from a second person to help with alignment. We include detailed instructions with every order, and many customers successfully install them in their driveways.
Will these decals damage my truck's paint when I remove them?
When removed properly, our decals will not damage factory paint or clear coat. To remove safely, use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the decal, then slowly peel at a 45-degree angle. Any adhesive residue can be removed with adhesive remover or WD-40. However, if your truck has been repainted or has compromised clear coat, exercise extra caution. Never use metal scrapers or aggressive chemicals that could damage the paint surface.
Can I get custom sizes or designs for my specific truck model?
While our standard decals come in preset sizes that fit most trucks, we do offer custom sizing on select designs. Contact our customer service team with your specific measurements and truck model. Custom orders typically take 5-7 business days to produce. Note that custom decals cannot be returned unless defective. For completely custom designs, we require vector artwork files and have minimum order quantities.
How do I clean and maintain decals to keep them looking new?
Clean your decals with mild soap and water, avoiding harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Hand washing is preferred over automatic car washes, especially those with brushes. For best results, wash in shade and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid pressure washing directly on the decal edges. Applying a vinyl protectant spray every few months can help maintain color vibrancy and extend the life of your decals, especially for those exposed to constant sun.
