Volvo VT880 Dash Knobs

Frequently Asked Questions About Volvo VT880 Dash Knobs

What are these dash knobs used for?

These knobs are replacement controls for the interior dash and console of the Volvo VT880, typically used to operate functions like heat, air vents, headlights, or other dash-mounted switches and levers. If your original knob has cracked, worn smooth, or snapped off, these are designed to restore normal function and appearance to your dash controls.

Will these knobs fit my specific VT880 model year?

Volvo made changes to interior components across different production years, so knob shapes, shaft sizes, and mounting styles can vary. Always check the listed fitment details or compare your existing knob's shaft type and size against the product specs before ordering to ensure a proper match.

What materials are these knobs made from, and how durable are they?

Most dash knobs in this category are made from durable plastic or chrome-plated plastic designed to hold up to daily handling. Chrome finishes give a cleaner, upgraded look compared to factory black plastic, while standard plastic options offer a straightforward, functional replacement at a lower cost.

How do I install a replacement dash knob?

Installation is generally simple and does not require tools. Most knobs press or twist onto a shaft, similar to how the original was mounted. If the old knob is broken and still attached to the shaft, you may need to carefully pry off any remaining pieces before installing the new one. Always match up the shaft shape and size before attempting installation to avoid a loose or improper fit.

Can I use these knobs to upgrade the look of my interior, not just replace a broken one?

Yes. Many customers choose chrome or styled knobs to freshen up the look of their dash even if the original knob is still functional. Since these knobs are visible and frequently touched, upgrading them is a simple way to improve the overall appearance and feel of the cab.
