Western Star 4700 Truck Hood Emblems & Bezels

Frequently Asked Questions About Western Star 4700 Truck Hood Emblems & Bezels

What exactly are hood emblems and bezels?

Hood emblems are the decorative nameplates or badges that display the Western Star logo or lettering on the hood, while bezels are the trim pieces or surrounds that frame these emblems, as well as other hood-mounted components like lights or vents. Together they add a finished, factory-style appearance to your truck's hood.

Will these emblems and bezels fit my Western Star 4700 correctly?

Products listed in this category are designed specifically for the Western Star 4700 model. However, hood designs can vary slightly by production year and trim level, so it's important to compare the part number, dimensions, and mounting style listed on the product page to your existing emblem or bezel before ordering.

What materials and finishes are available?

These parts are typically offered in materials such as chrome-plated plastic or metal, and finishes range from polished chrome to painted or brushed looks. The right choice depends on whether you're matching existing trim or upgrading the appearance of your hood, so check each listing for specific material and finish details.

How are hood emblems and bezels installed?

Most emblems and bezels are installed using existing mounting holes, adhesive backing, or factory-style clips, depending on the specific part. Basic hand tools are usually all that's needed. If a specific part requires removal of the old emblem or bezel first, be sure to note whether adhesive residue or old mounting hardware needs to be cleaned off before installing the new piece.

How do I keep chrome emblems and bezels looking good over time?

Regular washing with a mild soap and water solution, followed by drying with a soft cloth, will help maintain the shine and prevent water spots or road grime buildup. Avoid abrasive cleaners or pads, since these can scratch chrome or painted finishes and dull their appearance over time.
