Peterbilt 587 Floor Covers & Mats

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 587 Floor Covers & Mats

Will these floor mats fit my Peterbilt 587 without modification?

Floor mats and covers in this category are designed to match the factory floorboard layout of the Peterbilt 587, including the contours around the pedals, doghouse, and sleeper transition where applicable. Because cab configurations can vary by model year and trim, it's a good idea to check the product description for specific fitment notes before ordering to ensure a proper fit for your truck.

What materials are these floor covers made from, and how durable are they?

Most floor covers and mats for the 587 are made from heavy-duty rubber or vinyl material designed to withstand daily wear, dirt, and moisture in a working truck cab. Rubber options tend to offer better durability and grip, while vinyl or carpet-style covers may offer a cleaner look. The product listing will specify the exact material so you can choose based on how the truck is used.

Are these mats easy to clean and maintain?

Yes, most floor covers in this category are built for easy maintenance. Rubber mats can typically be hosed off, wiped down, or removed for a more thorough cleaning, which makes them a practical choice for drivers dealing with mud, snow, or spills on a regular basis. Carpet-style mats may require a bit more care, such as vacuuming or spot cleaning.

Do I need any tools or special skills to install these floor mats?

No special tools are typically required. Most floor covers and mats are designed to lay directly over the existing floorboard or be secured using existing anchor points or retention clips, depending on the specific product. Installation is generally straightforward and can be done in a few minutes without professional help.

Will a floor cover help protect the resale value of my truck?

Keeping the original floorboard covered and protected from dirt, moisture, and wear can help maintain the cab's condition over time, which is a factor buyers often consider on resale. A quality floor mat is a simple way to guard against stains, cracking, or premature wear on the factory flooring.
