Peterbilt 389 Glider Interior Dash Trim

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 389 Glider Interior Dash Trim

Will this dash trim fit my Peterbilt 389 Glider without modification?

Dash trim pieces in this category are designed to match the factory dash layout of the Peterbilt 389 Glider. However, because gauge clusters, switch panels, and radio configurations can vary between build years and dealer setups, we recommend comparing your existing trim piece dimensions and cutout locations to the product specifications before ordering to confirm a proper fit.

What materials and finish options are available for these trim pieces?

Dash trim is typically offered in finishes such as brushed stainless steel, chrome-plated, and painted or textured composite options to match different interior styles. Listings will specify the exact material and finish, so check the product details to ensure it complements the rest of your cab.

Can I install this dash trim myself, or do I need a professional?

Most dash trim pieces are designed for straightforward installation using existing mounting points and factory hardware, making them manageable for anyone comfortable with basic hand tools. That said, some panels may require careful removal of surrounding trim or switches, so reviewing the product instructions beforehand or having a qualified installer assist can help avoid damage to surrounding components.

Will adding trim interfere with factory gauges, switches, or wiring?

Dash trim panels are designed to fit around existing gauges, switches, and vents without requiring rewiring. That said, always double check cutout placement against your truck's specific configuration, especially if your glider kit has any aftermarket switches or gauges added after the original build.

How do I clean and maintain the trim to keep it looking new?

Cleaning recommendations depend on the finish. Chrome and stainless trim generally clean up well with a mild automotive metal cleaner and a soft cloth, while painted or composite trim should be cleaned with a gentle, non-abrasive cleaner to avoid scratching or dulling the finish. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners that could discolor or degrade the material over time.
