Peterbilt 389 Glider Air Conditioner Filters

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 389 Glider Air Conditioner Filters

Will these air conditioner filters fit my Peterbilt 389 Glider?

These filters are designed to fit the cab HVAC systems used in Peterbilt 389 Glider models. Because cab configurations and build years can vary, it is a good idea to confirm your truck's specific HVAC system or cab AC unit before ordering to ensure a proper fit.

How often should I replace my cab air conditioner filter?

Most drivers replace their cab AC filter every few months, though this depends on how often the truck is driven, the environment it operates in, and how dusty or dirty the routes are. If you notice reduced airflow, musty odors, or more dust coming through the vents, it is a good sign the filter needs to be changed.

What are the signs that my AC filter needs to be replaced?

Common signs include weaker airflow from the vents, unpleasant smells when the AC or heater is running, increased dust or debris inside the cab, and the system needing to work harder to cool or heat the cabin. Replacing the filter regularly helps maintain good air quality and system performance.

Are these filters easy to install myself?

Yes, cab air conditioner filters are generally designed for straightforward replacement. Most filter housings in the 389 Glider are accessible without special tools, though the exact location can vary depending on cab layout. Checking your owner's manual or a service guide for your specific cab configuration can help you locate the filter housing quickly.

Do these filters help with allergens and dust inside the cab?

Cab air conditioner filters are designed to capture dust, pollen, and other airborne particles before they enter the cabin through the HVAC system. Using a clean, properly fitted filter can help improve air quality inside the cab, which is especially helpful for drivers who spend long hours on the road.
