Peterbilt 389 Floor Covers & Mats

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 389 Floor Covers & Mats

Will these floor mats fit my Peterbilt 389 without modification?

Floor mats and covers in this category are designed to match the floorboard layout of the Peterbilt 389, including the contours around the pedals, doghouse, and door sills. However, fitment can vary depending on your truck's year, transmission type (manual vs. automatic), and whether you have factory or aftermarket flooring. Always check the product description for cab configuration and pedal setup before ordering to ensure a proper fit.

What materials are these floor covers made from, and how do they hold up?

Most floor covers and mats for the Peterbilt 389 are made from heavy-duty rubber, vinyl, or carpet-backed materials designed to handle daily wear, dirt, and moisture. Rubber and vinyl options tend to offer better durability and easier cleanup, while carpeted mats provide a more finished, factory-like look. Check individual listings for specific material details since thickness and construction can vary by manufacturer.

How do I clean and maintain my floor mats or covers?

Rubber and vinyl mats can typically be removed and hosed off or wiped down with soap and water. Carpeted mats may require vacuuming and spot cleaning to avoid staining or matting down the fibers. Regularly removing mats to clean underneath them also helps prevent moisture buildup and rust on the cab floor.

Are these mats a direct swap for the factory flooring, or do they go over it?

Most products in this category are designed to lay over your existing factory floor covering rather than replace it entirely. They function as a protective layer to guard against mud, spills, and general wear. If you're looking for a full floor covering replacement rather than an overlay mat, check the product description carefully, as some listings may offer full-coverage options.

Do these mats come in different colors or styles to match my interior?

Yes, many floor covers and mats are available in various colors and finishes, such as black, gray, or tan, to complement different Peterbilt 389 interior packages. Some are also offered with subtle texturing or logo detailing. Availability varies by brand and style, so review the product options on each listing to find the best match for your cab.
