Peterbilt 375/377 Elbows, Piping & Comp.

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 375/377 Elbows, Piping & Comp.

What exhaust components are included in this category?

This category covers exhaust system elbows, straight and mitered piping sections, and related connecting components designed for Peterbilt 375 and 377 models. These parts are used to route exhaust gases from the engine or muffler to the stack, and include options in various diameters, angles, and lengths to match different exhaust configurations.

What materials and finishes are available for these parts?

Elbows and piping are commonly available in aluminized steel, stainless steel, and chrome-plated finishes. Aluminized steel offers good heat and corrosion resistance at a lower cost, stainless steel provides longer-lasting durability in harsh conditions, and chrome finishes add a polished appearance for trucks with a show-truck or custom look.

How do I know if a piece will fit my truck's existing exhaust setup?

Fit depends on matching the correct pipe diameter, wall thickness, and angle of the elbow to your current exhaust system. Before ordering, measure your existing piping diameter and note the degree of bend needed (such as 45 or 90 degrees). If you are unsure, check your truck's exhaust routing or consult with our team so we can help confirm the right part for your application.

Can I mix and match pipe and elbow brands, or should they match?

In most cases, exhaust piping and elbows are sold as universal-fit components, so mixing brands is generally fine as long as the diameters and wall thicknesses match up. The main things to verify are consistent pipe diameter for a secure slip-fit or weld connection and compatible material types if you want uniform corrosion resistance and appearance.

Do these parts require welding, or can they be installed with clamps?

Many elbows and piping sections are designed to slip-fit and can be secured with exhaust clamps, while others may require welding for a permanent, leak-free seal depending on your setup. If you are replacing a section of your existing exhaust, matching the original connection method (clamped or welded) is usually the simplest approach for a proper fit.
