Mack CV/GU Truck Cab Lights

Frequently Asked Questions About Mack CV/GU Truck Cab Lights

Will these cab lights fit my Mack CV or GU model truck?

These lights are designed specifically for Mack CV and GU series cabs, but exact fitment can vary slightly by model year and cab configuration. Be sure to check the listed specifications and part number cross-references on each product page, or contact our team with your VIN or truck details if you're unsure before ordering.

What are these cab lights typically made of, and how well do they hold up?

Most cab lights in this category feature durable polycarbonate or acrylic lenses paired with weather-resistant housings, often chrome or stainless steel plated for a long-lasting finish. They're built to handle daily exposure to road vibration, moisture, and temperature swings that come with over-the-road use.

Are these lights DOT compliant and legal for use on the road?

Many cab lights are sold as DOT-compliant marker or clearance lights, which is important for staying within FMCSA lighting regulations. Always check the individual product listing for DOT certification markings before purchasing, especially if the lights are replacing factory-installed clearance or marker lights.

How difficult is it to install replacement cab lights on a Mack CV/GU?

Installation difficulty depends on whether you're doing a direct swap or adding new lights. Direct-fit replacement lights usually just require removing the old housing, disconnecting the wiring harness, and mounting the new unit using the existing bolt holes. Basic hand tools are typically all that's needed, though wiring connections should be checked for proper grounding and sealed connections to prevent moisture intrusion.

Can I get these cab lights in different colors or lens styles?

Yes, many cab lights come in a variety of lens colors such as amber, red, clear, and smoked, along with LED or incandescent bulb options. This allows you to match your truck's existing look or update the style, while still meeting lighting requirements for your specific application.
