Kenworth T680 Refrigerators & Mounting Kits

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T680 Refrigerators & Mounting Kits

Will these refrigerators fit my Kenworth T680 without modifications?

Most refrigerators in this category are designed to work with the factory storage compartments and mounting points found in the Kenworth T680, but fit can vary depending on the model year and cab configuration of your truck. Be sure to check the listed dimensions and compatible model years for each unit, and compare them against your truck's available space before ordering. If you're unsure, our team can help confirm compatibility based on your VIN or cab specs.

Do I need a separate mounting kit, or does the refrigerator come with one?

This depends on the specific product. Some refrigerators are sold as complete kits that include the necessary brackets and hardware for a secure installation, while others require a separate mounting kit sold individually. Always check the product description to confirm what's included before you buy, especially if you're replacing an existing unit or installing one for the first time.

How much power do these refrigerators draw, and will they drain my truck's battery?

Power draw varies by refrigerator size and brand, but most 12-volt truck refrigerators are designed for extended use while parked, including overnight idling-off periods. To avoid unexpected battery drain, it's a good idea to check the amp draw listed on the product page and consider how it fits with your truck's battery capacity and any auxiliary power systems you have installed.

How difficult is installation, and can I do it myself?

Installation difficulty depends on whether you're replacing an existing unit in the same location or installing a refrigerator and mounting kit from scratch. Straight swaps into an existing compartment are typically manageable with basic tools, while new installations may involve additional wiring and bracket work. If you're not comfortable with 12-volt electrical connections, having a qualified technician handle the wiring is a safe bet.
