Kenworth T300-T450 Dash Knobs

Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T300-T450 Dash Knobs

What are dash knobs used for on the Kenworth T300-T450?

Dash knobs are the control knobs used to operate functions like heating, air conditioning, vents, headlights, dimmer switches, and other dashboard controls. Over time these knobs can crack, fade, or break due to sun exposure and daily handling, making replacement necessary to keep controls functioning properly.

Will these dash knobs fit my specific Kenworth model year?

Dash knobs can vary between Kenworth T300, T400, T440, and T470 model years due to differences in dash layouts and control mechanisms. Always check the fitment details listed on each product page and compare the knob's shaft shape, size, and mounting style to your existing part before ordering. If you're unsure, having your VIN or the original part number on hand can help confirm compatibility.

What materials are these dash knobs made from, and how durable are they?

Most replacement dash knobs are made from durable plastic or metal components designed to withstand regular use inside the cab. While they hold up well under normal conditions, prolonged sun exposure can cause fading or brittleness over time, which is often why original knobs need replacing in the first place.

How do I install a replacement dash knob?

Installation is typically straightforward and doesn't require special tools. Most knobs simply pull off or unscrew from the control shaft, and the new knob pushes or twists into place. If a knob is stuck due to age or corrosion, gently wiggling it while pulling can help loosen it without damaging the shaft or surrounding dash trim.

Can I get dash knobs that match the original color or style of my dash?

Yes, many dash knobs are available in various colors and styles to closely match factory originals or to refresh the look of an older interior. Be sure to check product images and descriptions closely, as slight variations in shape or finish can exist between manufacturers.
