International S1700-S1900 Cab Lights

Frequently Asked Questions About International S1700-S1900 Cab Lights

Will these cab lights fit my International S1700 or S1900 without modification?

Cab lights in this category are designed to match the mounting locations and profile of the S1700-S1900 cab, so they typically install using the existing holes or mounting brackets. However, because these trucks were built over many years and may have gone through different body updates, it's a good idea to compare the light's base dimensions and mounting pattern to your cab before ordering to ensure a proper fit.

Are these lights DOT compliant for on-road use?

Most cab lights sold for the S1700-S1900 are manufactured to meet DOT and SAE lighting standards, but compliance can vary by manufacturer and specific light model. Check the product description or packaging for DOT/SAE certification markings before installation, especially if the lights will serve as marker or clearance lights rather than purely decorative accents.

What's the difference between incandescent, LED, and halogen options?

LED cab lights generally offer longer lifespan, lower power draw, and brighter output compared to incandescent or halogen bulbs. Incandescent and halogen lights tend to cost less upfront but burn out faster and pull more current. If you're replacing multiple cab lights at once, switching to LED can reduce how often you need to service them down the road.

Do these lights come with the wiring harness and grommets needed for installation?

This depends on the specific product. Some cab lights include a complete harness, grommets, and mounting hardware, while others are sold as standalone lights that use your truck's existing wiring. Always check the product listing details or reach out to us before ordering if you need a complete kit versus a replacement light only.

What housing material and finish will hold up best in daily use?

Cab lights are commonly available in chrome-plated plastic, stainless steel, or powder-coated housings. Chrome and stainless steel tend to resist corrosion and hold their shine longer under regular exposure to road salt, weather, and washing, while painted or plastic housings may show wear sooner. If you run in harsh winter climates or high-mileage routes, a stainless or chrome housing is usually the more durable choice.
