International IH Cabover Gauges & Switches

Frequently Asked Questions About International IH Cabover Gauges & Switches

Will these gauges and switches fit my specific International IH cabover model?

International produced several different cabover models over the years, including the DCO, Transtar, and CO series, and dash layouts and wiring can vary between them. Always check the listed model compatibility and, when available, compare part numbers with your existing gauge or switch before ordering. If you are unsure, reach out to our team with your truck's year and model so we can help confirm fitment.

Are these replacement gauges and switches original equipment or aftermarket parts?

Our inventory includes a mix of genuine take-off parts pulled from International IH cabovers as well as aftermarket replacements, depending on the specific item. Each product listing notes whether the part is OEM or aftermarket, so you can choose based on your preference for original fit and finish versus cost savings.

How do I know if a gauge or switch is bad versus a wiring or fuse issue?

Before replacing a gauge or switch, it is worth checking the related fuse, ground connection, and wiring harness for corrosion or loose connections, since these issues can mimic a failed gauge or switch. If power and ground are confirmed good at the component and it still does not read correctly or function, the gauge or switch itself is likely the culprit and should be replaced.

What tools do I need to install a replacement gauge or switch?

Most gauge and switch replacements on IH cabovers can be done with basic hand tools such as a screwdriver, small wrench or socket set, and wire connectors or a crimping tool if you need to splice into existing wiring. Always disconnect the battery before working on the dash to avoid electrical shorts.

Do these gauges and switches come with instructions or wiring diagrams?

Individual gauges and switches typically do not include detailed wiring diagrams, since wiring can vary by truck configuration and model year. We recommend keeping your factory service manual on hand for wiring reference, and our customer service team can offer general guidance based on the part you purchase.
