Freightliner FLC120 Mirrors & Acc.

Frequently Asked Questions About Freightliner FLC120 Mirrors & Acc.

Will these mirrors and mirror accessories fit my Freightliner FLC120 without modification?

Most mirrors and mirror accessories listed in this category are designed to match the OEM mounting configuration for the Freightliner FLC120, so they typically bolt into the existing mirror arm or bracket locations. However, because the FLC120 was produced over several model years, mounting hardware and arm styles can vary. Always check the listed year range and compare the mounting pattern to your truck before ordering to avoid fitment issues.

What materials and finish options are available for FLC120 mirrors and mirror heads?

You'll typically find mirror heads and housings offered in chrome-plated steel or stainless steel, along with black or paintable plastic and composite housings. Chrome and stainless options are popular for their durability and appearance, while painted or textured black finishes offer a more subdued look. The right choice usually comes down to matching your truck's existing trim and personal preference.

Are heated and remote-controlled mirror options available for the FLC120?

Yes, many mirror assemblies in this category include heated glass and power or remote adjustment features, in addition to standard manual mirrors. If you're replacing a factory-installed heated or motorized mirror, be sure to select a replacement with the matching wiring harness and connector type so it plugs directly into your truck's existing electrical system.

Can I install these mirrors and accessories myself, or do I need a professional?

Basic mirror head or glass replacements are generally straightforward and can be handled with common hand tools. Full mirror arm or bracket assemblies, especially those involving heated or powered components, require more care to properly connect wiring and ensure secure mounting. If you're not comfortable working with electrical connections or don't have experience aligning mirror arms, having a qualified technician handle the installation is a good idea.

What's the difference between the main mirror, the convex mirror, and the hood mirror on an FLC120, and can I order them separately?

The FLC120 typically uses a main flat mirror for standard rear and side visibility, a smaller convex mirror for a wider viewing angle to help spot vehicles in blind spots, and in many configurations a hood-mounted mirror for checking the area directly alongside the cab. These components are generally sold individually, so you can replace just the damaged or worn piece rather than purchasing an entire mirror assembly.
