Freightliner FLC120 Dash Nuts & Screws

Frequently Asked Questions About Freightliner FLC120 Dash Nuts & Screws

What are these dash nuts and screws used for?

These small hardware components are used to secure interior dash panels, trim pieces, gauge clusters, and switch housings inside the Freightliner FLC120 cab. Over time, original fasteners can strip, corrode, or go missing, and having the correct replacement hardware on hand makes it much easier to complete a dash repair or panel reinstall without improvising with generic hardware store parts.

Will these nuts and screws fit my FLC120 without modification?

These fasteners are sized and threaded to match the original hardware used on the Freightliner FLC120 dash assembly. Because dash configurations can vary slightly depending on year and trim setup, we recommend comparing the thread size and length of your existing hardware to the listing details before ordering to confirm a proper fit.

What material and finish are these fasteners made from?

Dash nuts and screws in this category are typically made from steel or zinc-plated steel for corrosion resistance and durability inside the cab environment. The finish is designed to hold up to normal interior conditions, though it is not intended for exterior or heavy-exposure applications.

Can I reuse my old dash hardware instead of replacing it?

In some cases, existing hardware can be reused if it is not stripped, rusted, or rounded off. However, dash panels are removed and reinstalled multiple times over a truck's life, which can wear down threads or heads. If a screw no longer tightens securely or a nut spins without holding, replacing it with new hardware is the more reliable option.

Do I need any special tools to install these?

Most dash nuts and screws can be installed with basic hand tools such as a screwdriver, nut driver, or small socket, depending on the fastener head style. No specialty tools are typically required, but working in tight dash spaces may call for a stubby screwdriver or magnetic driver to avoid dropping small hardware behind the panel.
