Freightliner Columbia 112/120 Switch Trim-ID Label

Frequently Asked Questions About Freightliner Columbia 112/120 Switch Trim-ID Label

What exactly is a switch trim-ID label used for?

These are the small identification labels or plates that sit on or near the dash and switch panel trim in a Freightliner Columbia 112/120. They identify the function of a specific switch, such as headlights, wipers, marker lights, or other cab controls, so drivers can quickly recognize what each switch operates without guesswork.

Will this label match the factory trim on my Columbia 112/120?

These labels are designed to correspond with the original switch layout used on Freightliner Columbia 112 and 120 models. Because switch panel configurations can vary by production year and cab option, we recommend comparing the wording, icon, or switch position printed on the label to the one currently installed on your truck before ordering to confirm you are getting the correct replacement.

How do I install or replace a switch trim-ID label?

Most of these labels are designed to snap, peel, or press into the existing trim bezel around the switch, similar to how the original factory label was installed. In many cases, you simply remove the old or damaged label and insert or adhere the new one in the same spot. No wiring or electrical work is involved since the label is a cosmetic and identification piece, not a functional switch component.

What material and finish can I expect?

These labels are typically made from durable plastic or a similar material designed to hold up to regular cab use, with printed or embossed text and icons that match the factory look. The finish is intended to resemble the original equipment appearance so it blends in with the rest of your dash and switch trim.

Why replace a switch trim-ID label instead of leaving it blank or worn?

Over time these labels can fade, crack, or fall off due to sun exposure and daily handling, making it harder to quickly identify what each switch controls. Replacing a worn or missing label restores a clean, professional look to your cab and helps drivers, especially anyone unfamiliar with the truck, operate the correct switch without confusion.
