Freightliner Cascadia 116/126 Switch Trim-ID Label

Frequently Asked Questions About Freightliner Cascadia 116/126 Switch Trim-ID Labels

What exactly is a switch trim-ID label?

A switch trim-ID label is the small printed insert or overlay located on the dash switch trim panel that identifies the function of each rocker or toggle switch, such as headlights, wipers, differential lock, or marker lights. These labels sit within or alongside the switch bezel so drivers can quickly identify controls at a glance.

Will this label fit both the Cascadia 116 and 126 models?

Most switch trim-ID labels listed in this category are designed to fit the dash switch panels used across both the 116 and 126 Cascadia models, since these trucks generally share the same interior switch layout and trim design. That said, always check the specific listing for model year and panel style compatibility before ordering, as minor design changes have occurred across production years.

How do I know which label matches the switch I need to replace?

Labels are typically identified by the function printed on them, such as "Fog Lamp," "Dash Light," or "Diff Lock." Compare the wording and icon on your current label, if still legible, to the product description or photo. If your existing label has worn off completely, matching by switch position on the trim panel or referencing your dash layout can help confirm the correct part.

Does the label include the switch itself, or is it just the ID insert?

These listings are for the trim-ID label or insert only, not the physical switch. If your switch is functioning properly but the label has faded, cracked, or fallen off, this is the correct replacement. If the switch itself is malfunctioning, you will need a separate switch component.

How do I install a replacement switch trim-ID label?

Installation is generally straightforward. The switch is removed from the dash trim panel, the old label is taken out or scraped away, and the new label is snapped or pressed into place before the switch is reinserted. No wiring or electrical work is involved since the label is a cosmetic and functional identifier, not an electrical component. If you are unsure about removing your dash switches, consult your Cascadia service manual or a qualified technician.
