Western Star 5700XE Truck Cab Lights

Frequently Asked Questions About Western Star 5700XE Truck Cab Lights

Will these cab lights fit my Western Star 5700XE without modification?

Cab lights in this category are designed to match the mounting points and contours of the Western Star 5700XE cab, so they typically install using the existing holes or brackets. However, exact fitment can vary slightly depending on the model year and any prior modifications to your cab, so it is a good idea to confirm dimensions and mounting style before ordering.

Are these lights LED, and how do they compare to factory-style bulbs?

Most cab lights offered in this category use LED technology, which provides brighter output, longer service life, and lower power draw compared to older incandescent styles. If a listing does not specify LED, check the product details or reach out to confirm before purchasing.

Are these cab lights legal for on-road use in all states?

Lighting color and usage rules vary by state and by whether the lights are used for marker, identification, or auxiliary purposes. Amber and red lights are generally accepted for cab marker use, while other colors may be restricted depending on your local regulations. Always check your state's specific lighting laws before installing non-standard colors.

What is involved in installing new cab lights on my own?

Installation typically involves removing the old light or cover, connecting the wiring harness, and securing the new light into the existing mount. Most cab lights are designed for straightforward bolt-on or plug-and-play installation, but having basic hand tools and a wiring diagram on hand will make the process easier, especially if you are rewiring rather than swapping a direct-fit unit.

Do these lights come with the necessary wiring and mounting hardware?

Many cab light kits include the wiring harness and hardware needed for installation, but this can vary by product and manufacturer. Check the product listing carefully to see what is included, and keep in mind that some installations may require additional connectors or a sealant to protect against moisture depending on your cab's condition.
