Sterling L-Series Truck Dash Knobs

Frequently Asked Questions About Sterling L-Series Truck Dash Knobs

What are dash knobs used for on the Sterling L-Series?

Dash knobs are the control knobs used to operate various dashboard functions such as heating and air conditioning, headlight switches, dimmer controls, wiper settings, and other cab controls. They are the small handles you grip and turn or pull to adjust these systems inside the cab.

Will these knobs fit my specific Sterling L-Series model and year?

Dash knob designs can vary depending on the model year and the specific control system installed in your truck, so it's important to check the knob's shaft size, shape, and mounting style against your original part before ordering. If you're unsure, comparing your existing knob to the product photos and dimensions listed, or contacting our team with your VIN or model details, can help confirm compatibility.

What materials are these dash knobs made from, and how durable are they?

Replacement dash knobs are typically made from durable plastic or a plastic and metal combination designed to hold up to daily handling in the cab. Quality can vary between manufacturers, so look at the product description for material details if long-term durability in a working truck environment is a priority for you.

Are these knobs easy to install myself?

Most dash knobs are designed for simple installation. In many cases, the old knob pulls or unscrews off the control shaft, and the new one pushes or screws on in its place. No special tools are usually required, though some knobs may be secured with a small screw or retaining clip, so it's worth checking your specific knob type before starting.

Do these knobs include the original labeling or symbols, such as for lights or wipers?

Many dash knobs come printed or molded with the appropriate symbol or label for their function, such as headlights, wipers, or climate control. If matching the exact look and labeling of your original dash is important, review the product photos closely or reach out to us to confirm before purchasing.
