Peterbilt 587 Windshield, Wiper & Roof Acc.

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 587 Windshield, Wiper & Roof Acc.

Will these windshield, wiper, and roof accessories fit my Peterbilt 587?

Yes, the parts listed in this category are designed specifically for the Peterbilt 587 model. However, since Peterbilt made design changes across different production years, we recommend double-checking part numbers or reaching out to our team with your VIN or truck year to confirm exact fitment before ordering.

What types of products are included in this category?

This category covers components related to the windshield, wiper system, and roof area of the Peterbilt 587, such as windshield glass and trim, wiper arms, blades and motors, wiper linkage parts, roof fairings, and related mounting hardware and seals.

Are replacement windshields DOT approved for safety compliance?

Windshield glass sold through our site meets applicable DOT safety glazing standards for commercial vehicles. If a specific certification or standard is required for your fleet or state inspection, check the product listing details or contact us for documentation before purchasing.

Can I install these parts myself, or do I need a professional?

Many wiper components, such as blades and arms, are straightforward enough for an experienced driver or shop technician to replace without specialty tools. Windshield glass replacement and roof fairing installation are more involved and typically require professional installation to ensure a proper seal, correct alignment, and to avoid damage to surrounding trim or the cab structure.

How do I know if I need to replace my wiper motor versus just the blades or arms?

If your wipers are streaking, chattering, or not clearing the glass properly, worn blades are usually the cause and are the least expensive fix. If the wipers move slowly, get stuck, or fail to operate at all electrically, the issue is more likely the wiper motor or linkage. Inspecting the arms and linkage for looseness or damage before replacing the motor can help you avoid buying a part you don't need.
