Peterbilt 567/579 Dash Nuts & Screws

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 567/579 Dash Nuts & Screws

What are these dash nuts and screws used for?

These small hardware components are used to secure interior dash panels, trim pieces, and switch bezels inside the Peterbilt 567 and 579 cab. They keep dash sections tightly fastened and help prevent rattling, loose panels, or gaps around trim during daily driving.

Will these fasteners fit my specific Peterbilt model and year?

These nuts and screws are designed specifically for Peterbilt 567 and 579 dash assemblies. However, because dash configurations can vary slightly by build date and cab option, we recommend comparing the part number and thread size against your original hardware or checking with our parts team before ordering to confirm exact fitment.

What material and finish are these fasteners made from?

Dash hardware in this category is typically made from steel or stainless steel with finishes such as zinc plating, chrome, or black oxide, depending on the specific part. These finishes are chosen to resist corrosion and match the appearance of surrounding interior trim.

Do I need any special tools to install these nuts and screws?

Most dash nuts and screws in this category can be installed with basic hand tools such as a screwdriver, small socket, or nut driver. Because they are used on interior trim and dash panels, only light torque is needed. Overtightening can crack plastic panels or strip the fastener, so hand-tight plus a slight turn is usually sufficient.

What should I do if I am missing the original hardware or it is stripped?

If original dash nuts or screws are lost, stripped, or corroded, replacing them with the correct Peterbilt-specific hardware helps ensure a secure, factory-style fit. Using mismatched or generic hardware can lead to loose panels, uneven gaps, or damage to the surrounding trim, so matching the original size and thread pitch is important.
