Peterbilt 389 Glider Windshield, Wiper & Roof Acc.

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 389 Glider Windshield, Wiper & Roof Acc.

Will these windshield, wiper, and roof accessories fit my Peterbilt 389 Glider?

Products in this category are designed to fit the Peterbilt 389 Glider platform, but fitment can vary depending on the model year and cab configuration of your specific truck. Before ordering, check the product listing details and compare them against your truck's specifications, or contact our sales team to confirm compatibility.

What materials are these parts made from, and how durable are they?

Windshield trim, wiper components, and roof accessories in this category are typically made from materials such as stainless steel, chrome-plated metal, or durable automotive-grade plastics, depending on the specific part. These materials are chosen to hold up to daily highway use and exposure to the elements, though the exact finish and durability will vary by item, so review each product description for specifics.

Can I install these parts myself, or do I need a professional?

Many items in this category, such as trim pieces, visors, and wiper components, are designed for straightforward installation using basic hand tools and typically follow OEM mounting points. However, some roof accessories may require drilling or more involved installation. If you are unsure about a specific part's installation process, we recommend reviewing the included instructions or consulting a qualified truck technician.

Will adding roof accessories or windshield trim affect my truck's warranty or DOT compliance?

Most aftermarket windshield, wiper, and roof accessories are cosmetic or functional add-ons that do not interfere with DOT requirements, but it's important to ensure that any part you install does not obstruct your field of vision, lighting, or required safety equipment. If you have concerns about how a specific accessory may affect your truck's warranty, we suggest checking with your dealer prior to installation.

How do I clean and maintain these accessories to keep them looking good?

Chrome and stainless steel components generally require regular washing with mild soap and water, followed by a manufacturer-recommended metal polish to prevent buildup and maintain shine. Plastic components can typically be cleaned with standard automotive cleaners. Avoid harsh abrasives or chemicals that could damage the finish, and refer to the specific product's care instructions when available.
